Dr Hussien Kassem
Consultant Interventional Cardiology
Dr. Hussien Heshmat graduated from Kasr Alainy School of medicine in 1995. He completed his residency and fellowship in the cardiology department at Cairo University. He had training in peripheral vascular interventions in Cleveland Clinic Ohio and in Istanbul University. He is currently Professor of Cardiology at Cairo University, on leave. He is fellow of the American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, SCAI as well as an Associate member of the Euro CTO club. Since February 2018, he has been appointed as the head of cardiology in Fujairah hospital, UAE. His interests are primary PCI, complex coronary interventions, CTO, peripheral vascular interventions, percutaneous mitral valvotomy and heart failure.
He won four prizes in interventional cardiology in Egypt and UAE. He is currently the associate editor of the Egyptian Heart Journal. He authored 20 manuscripts in international peer reviewed journals as well as 4 chapters in international books. He is also a certified professional of healthcare quality
